Bike Packing Japan is a bike packing and touring specific website devoted to publishing stories, guides, and more based on cycling in Japan. The aim of Bike Packing Japan is to share cycling stories and information related to bike packing and touring with cyclists riding in the country for the first time, as well as to those that have more experience of Japan.
It is also intended to encourage people to get out on the road more and enjoy the country by bicycle.
Bike Packing Japan is edited by Sean Breslin and started in August 2016. After studying Japanese at university in the UK Sean moved to Japan in the summer of 2001 and has ridden his bike almost every day since. He lives in Aichi prefecture, central Japan, and is regularly out exploring the mountains and countryside of Gifu, Nagano, and Aichi prefectures both at weekends and throughout the week.
In August 2016 while cycling along a local river he had an idea about sharing his cycling knowledge of rides, routes, and camping in Japan with visitors to Japan. That was the start of Bike Packing Japan.
We hope to expand the number of contributors in the near future so if you would like to contribute please get in touch.
